MARVEL COMICS NEWS ROUNDUP

Marvel Comics has announced A-Force, co-written by G. Willow Wilson and Marguerite K. Bennett, with art by Jorge Molina, a Warzones! Secret Wars title in May.

Here's how the book is described:

"Within the Warzones! of Secret Wars, a brand new team will lead the way. A-Force Assemble! Marvel Comics reimagines the Marvel Universe in one of the largest shake-ups to the Avengers mythos."

"She-Hulk, Dazzler, Medusa, Nico Minoru and other fan-favorites will take charge," Wilson said. "We've purposefully assembled a team composed of different characters from disparate parts of the Marvel U, with very different power sets, identities and ideologies."

DEADPOOL'S BACK: Marvel Comics has announced Deadpool's Secret Wars, a Warzones! story launching in May in which Wade Wilson will head back to the original 1984 Secret Wars series.

Here's how the story is described:

"In 1984, Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars was known for debuting Spider-Man's black costume and featuring Doctor Doom stealing the Beyonder's power, and the first-ever event series also included a variety of appearances by Deadpool that readers never saw. Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars by the Deadpool Killustrated team of Cullen Bunn and Matteo Lolli, will have the Merc with the Mouth revealed to be a part of the 1984 comic book event and drawn into scenes from the original series."

"Way back when, right after I had finished Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, we were looking for something out of the ordinary as a follow up," Bunn said. "One of my first suggestions was to have Deadpool thrown back in time into the middle of the original Secret Wars limited series. At the time, we decided to go in a different direction, but the idea of having Wade playing a big, in-continuity role in the events of that series stuck with me."

BRIEFLY

DARK HORSE NEWS: Dark Horse Comics has announced a June launch for Mulan: Revelations, by writer Marc Andreyko and artist Robert Alter.

Here's how the book is described:

"Though the future boasts endless technological wonders, only a very few can afford access to them. As a deadly new virus rages through the rich and the poor, threatening all of humanity, a warrior is awakened to stop the evil puppeteers behind it all! Centuries after her ancestor and namesake fought for China, a new Mulan has been chosen by the ancient Chinese Immortals to fight in a final battle for the world!"

"I’ve always been a fan of extrapolating on myths and legends and dealing with the themes that make them so timeless, and Mulan: Revelations has that in spades," Andreyko said.
