BRIEFLY

DC SUPER HERO GIRLS: Beginning in this fall, DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Mattel are joining forces to launch DC Super Hero Girls, a new universe of "Super Heroic storytelling that helps build character and confidence, and empowers girls to discover their true potential."

The universe centers on the female characters of the DC Comics universe during their formative years, prior to discovering their full super power potential. They will include Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Bumble Bee, Poison Ivy and Katana.

"DC Entertainment is home to the most iconic and well-known Super Heroes including Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Batgirl," said Diane Nelson, president of DC Entertainment. "DC Super Hero Girls represents the embodiment of our long-term strategy to harness the power of our diverse female characters. I am so pleased that we are able to offer relatable and strong role models in a unique way, just for girls."

The launch of DC Super Hero Girls this fall will include original digital content and digital publishing. TV specials, made-for-videos, toys, apparel, books and other product categories will begin to rollout in 2016.

BLACK HAMMER DELAYED: Dark Horse Comics has delayed the launch of Black Hammer to a future date and artist Dean Ormston suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on the left side of his brain on March 26.

"Dean is now at home and recovering," said writer Jeff Lemire. "As a result, we have decided to postpone the launch of Black Hammer until Dean is able to work regularly again. I'd like to thank all the fans and retailers for their patience and understanding as Dean recovers and promise that Black Hammer will be worth the wait."
