MARVEL COMICS COSPLAY VARIANTS

Marvel Comics has unveiled its lineup of cosplay variant covers that will accompany titles in October.

"Cosplayers are taking over," said David Gabriel from Marvel's sales and marketing department. "Each convention I go to, it seems like there are more and more fans dressing up like their favorite Marvel characters. These homemade, hand-crafted costumes are so elaborate, it looks like they leapt off the comic page. The Cosplay Variant initiative is our way of supporting a community that supports us."

DARK HORSE NEWS: Dark Horse Comics has announced a Feb. 24 release for Founding Fathers Funnies, a collection of Peter Bagge's short vignettes, including all the Founding Fathers Funnies cartoons from Apocalypse Nerd and Dark Horse Presents.

"I find myself laughing out loud whenever I read of their foibles, especially when their oversized egos clashed," Bagge said.
