MARVEL COMICS' MOSAIC IN OCTOBER

Marvel Comics has announced an October launch for Mosaic, an ongoing series from screenwriter and novelist Geoffrey Thorne and artist Khary Randolph.

"To say that Morris will have a long, hard road to travel to become a hero is an understatement," said Axel Alonso, Marvel's editor-in-chief. "One minute, Mosaic holds the world in the palm of his hand, the next, he has absolutely nothing, except for powers that will transform him into one of the Marvel Universe's most complex characters -- powers that , if not properly harnessed, will feel more like a curse."

Here's how Marvel describes the series:

"Mosaic centers on Morris Sackett -- professional basketball player and celebrity. Loved by millions, hated by his teammates. Only Morris is secretly something else -- something Inhuman. Coming into contact with the transformative Terrigen Mists has given Morris spectacular new abilities. Imbued with the ability to jump from person-to-person like a ghost, Morris can control the bodies and memories of those he inhabits. But these fantastic new abilities come at a grave cost. Recognized as an all-star athlete, Morris has worked his whole adult life to raise his body to peak physical form, but after his transformation, his living body is no more, and Morris must now rely on other bodies to survive."

"Morris goes from being one of the most famous people in the world to being no one," said editor Nick Lowe. "Now he not only has to do time in the bodies of people he never even would have noticed, but also deep into Marvel Universe events!"

Mosaic makes a first appearance next week in Uncanny Inhumans #11. Plus, ahead of his ongoing series, fans can experience a 10-page Mosaic origin story from Thorne and Randolph which will be available for free on August 6 at all Barnes & Noble stores nationwide, as part of their Get Pop-Cultured event.

DYNAMITE'S GRIMM RETURNS

Dynamite Entertainment has announced that dark fantasy author Caitlin Kittredge will write the new Grimm comic book series, slated for release in September.

The new series, set during the acclaimed NBC television show's fourth season, pairs the author of Vertigo's Coffin Hill series with artist Maria Sanapo. Coinciding with the launch of the new comic series, Dynamite will release the massive Grimm Omnibus, collecting 496 pages of homicide investigator Nick Burkhardt's comic book adventures, including more than 100 pages of never-before-collected material!

Here's how Dynamite describes the series:

"Set within the official continuity of Grimm's fourth season, the upcoming Grimm comic book series explores the lives of the show's fan-favorite females! What do Juliette, Adalind, Truble, and Rosalee have in common? They're the women in the life of Portland's own Grimm, Nick Burkhardt, and they're about to cross paths in a way they'd never expect! Set during a tumultuous time in the hit television show, Juliette's struggles to come to terms with becoming a Hexenbiest draw her into conflict with a new Wessen threat, and she finds she has nowhere to turn except her most hated enemy, Adalind... that's right, the woman who impersonated Juliette and slept with Nick!:

"As a fan of the Grimm TV show, I jumped at the chance to come on board this comic," Kittredge said. "I'm doubly thrilled to be putting the ladies of Grimm front and center, taking Juliette through an adventure that's all her own. And teaming her up with Adalind was the natural choice; Juliette has a dark side she hasn't really let out during Season Four, and Adalind has a secret heroic side she tries her best to hide... but both of them are going to have to turn to their inner natures to take on the threat in this story. Who better to protect Portland than the four most badass women in it? I can't think of anyone!"

HELLUVA HELFER: Tricia Helfer has joined the cast of Fox's Lucifer, where she'll be playing Lucifer's mother.

Here's how her character is described:

"Trapped in Hell for thousands of years by God (her ex-husband), the Mother of Angels is now free on Earth. Once reunited with Lucifer, it will become clear that she's the one he takes after. Mom is fearless and has a strong conviction for who she is and what she deserves. However, mother and son do not share the same opinion when it comes to humanity. Everything that fascinates Lucifer about people repels Mom -- a disdain that's highlighted by that fact that Mom's trapped in a human body for her stay on Earth. Lucifer's desperate to find out what Mom's up to, but she claims that all she wants is to spend time with her sons again. But can the devil's mom really be that innocent?"

NEW TANK GIRL: Titan Comics has announced that Tank Girl: Gold will launch on Sept. 28, from writer Alan Martin and artist Brett Parson.

Here's how #1 is described:

"Picking up where the critically acclaimed hit series Two Girls One Tank left off - Tank Girl has lost one of her dearest friends, but inadvertently gained billions of dollars worth of Nazi Gold. What is she going to spend all that money on? Before we find out, her kangaroo boyfriend Booga must pay a penance by going right up The Furry Road. It's been swell, and the swelling isn't going down."

Covers are by Ashley Wood, Black Frog, Andrey Tkachenko, Lora Zombie and Parson.

ASPEN SPIDER-MAN: Marvel Comics and Aspen Comics have teamed up to present a never-before-used Michael Turner cover for the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man #15, colored by Peter Steigerwald (Dark Knight Returns: The Last Crusade), limited to 3,000 copies, exclusively available at www.AspenStore.com.
