Fox has released images and a description from Treehouse of Horror XXVII." the episode of The Simpsons premiering on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).
Here's how Fox describes the episode:
"In the midst of a major drought, Mr. Burns introduces a Hunger Games-style contest in which Springfield's children fight each other for a day in Burns' personal reservoir. Meanwhile, Lisa's imaginary best friend, Rachel, is jealous of Lisa's real best friends and starts killing them. Moe tells Bart that the barflies are actually covert agents and that he wants Bart join their team in Homer's place."
Guest cast includes Drew Carey as himself, Donald Fagan as himself, Sarah Silverman as Rachel and Judith Owen as herself.

"When Lucifer's mother, Charlotte, turns up at the scene of a grizzly murder pleading innocence, Lucifer is hesitant to believe her tale. Not wanting to leave her on her own, he instructs Maze to babysit her -- and not to torture her, allowing him to investigate the case with Chloe."

ABC has released a description for "Uprising," the Tuesday, Oct. 11 episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Here's how the episode is described:
"Mack and Fitz attempt to track down and neutralize a rogue group looking to end Inhuman Registration worldwide, Simmons and Dr. Radcliffe only have hours to save May before she succumbs forever to her mysterious illness."
"Uprising" was written by Craig Titley and directed by Magnus Martens.

VENOM COVERAGE: Marvel Comics has unveiled Todd McFarlane's variant cover for Venom #1, in stores on Nov. 23, recolored by Richard Isanove.

BOOM! GOES DEEP: BOOM! Studios has announced it will publish The Deep, by writer Tom Taylor and artist Justin Brower.
The Deep is the basis of the animated series on Netflix. It was first published in Australia by Gestalt as two original graphic novels but BOOM! will be publishing it as a six-issue limited series and making it available in the U.S. and everywhere else. A collected edition will come out fall 2017.
Here's how the series is described:
"The Deep follows the Nekton family, who have explored the depths of the oceans for generations, discovering the unknown in the Aronnax, a state-of-the-art submarine capable of diving to incredible depths. When an earthquake off the coast of Greenland leads to strange reports of monster sightings, William and Kaiko Nekton, along with their kids Fontaine and Ant (and of course, Ant's pet fish Jeffrey), dive into the mystery!"
