MONSTERS UNLEASHED: THE MONSTERS

Marvel Comics has unveiled six new monsters for Monsters Unleashed, the mini-series written by Cullen Bunn that begins in January.

"Everything about this story is massive -- the scope, the stakes and, of course, those incredible monsters," said Axel Alonson, Marvel's editor-in-chief. "Five action-packed issues celebrate Marvel's past, present and future, as one new, unforgettable character and several brand-new monsters -- created and designed by Cullen Bunn, the five artists and a few surprise guest artists -- arrive to leave an indelible mark on the Marvel Universe."

The monsters include:

* Slizzki by Steve McNiver.

* Scragg by Greg Land.

* Mekra by Leinil Francis Yu.

* Aegis by Salvador Larroca.

* Hi-Vo by Adam Kubert.

* Fireclaw by Art Adams.

The first issue ships on Jan. 18.

Supergirl, "Crossfire," on Monday, Nov. 7

Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) must beat a ruthless new gang who has been armed with dangerous new alien technology. When Cadmus sends a video to the DEO, the team realizes Cadmus is the one staffing the criminals for a secret mission. Meanwhile, Kara (Melissa Benoist) gets Mon-El (Chris Wood) a job as an intern at CatCo, James makes an important decision and Lena (Katie McGrath) invites Kara to attend one her fundraisers.

Glen Winter directed the episode written, by Gabriel Llanas and Anna Musky-Goldwyn.

The Flash, "Flashpoint," on Tuesday, Nov. 8

Repeat of season premiere.

Arrow, "So It Begins," on Wednesday, Nov. 9

When Prometheus ups his killing spree, Oliver (Stephen Amell) searches for connections between the victims. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Curtis (Echo Kellum) discover the victims have a mysterious link to Oliver's past and this new secret could upend his new team. Meanwhile, Thea (Willa Holland) has a heart-to-heart with Lance (Paul Blackthorne), and Felicity considers telling Malone (guest-star Tyler Ritter) the truth about her work.

John Behring directed the episode, written by Wendy Mericle and Brian Ford Sullivan.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow, "Compromised," on Thursday, Nov. 10

When the Legends trace a timequake to President Reagan's White House, they are shocked to discover their old enemy Damien Darhk (guest-star Neal McDonough) is now a Senior Adviser to Reagan. As the team works to uncover what Darhk has up his devious sleeve, Sara (Caity Lotz) struggles with the choice of getting revenge or helping with the team's larger mission. Thinking that the JSA members could be of help, Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Nate (Nick Zano) break into the JSA and are surprised at what they find. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) tries to prevent his younger self from creating an even bigger time Abberation.

David Geddes directed the episode, written by Keto Shimizu and Grainne Godfree.

DEFENDERS E.P.: Marvel Television and Netflix have announced that film and television director S.J. Clarkson (Marvel's Jessica Jones, Vinyl, Orange is the New Black), will return to the Marvel universe to direct the first two episodes of the Netflix original series "Marvel’s The Defenders." Clarkson will also serve as an executive producer on the premiere episode. The 8-episode limited series is slated to debut in 2017.
