MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.: "THE PATRIOT" AND "WAKE UP"

ABC has released a description and Image gallery from "The Patriot," the episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiering on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).

Here's how the episode is described:

"Separated from their team, Coulson and Mack discover a shocking secret about Mace, leaving all of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a precarious position."

"The Patriot" was written by James C. Oliver and Sharla Oliver and directed by Kevin Tancharoen.

ABC also released a description from "Wake Up," the episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiering on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).

Here's how the episode is described:

"May races to find the truth about what happened to her, while Aida's next move could mean the death of them all."

"Wake Up" was written by Drew Z. Greenberg and directed by Jesse Bochco.

MARVEL COMICS' THE DEFENDERS

Marvel Comics has announced a June launch for The Defenders, written by Brian Michael Bendis, with art by David Marquez.

Here's how Marvel describes the book:

The streets of New York's Hell's Kitchen have become over run with crime and corruption, and there is only one group of super heroes -- Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist – who are willing to unshackle themselves from the constraints of the rest of the Marvel super-hero community and fight the villains no one else is willing to take on.

"The toughest hard-hitting heroes of the Marvel Universe stand together as a brand new team ready to take down one of the most dominating criminal empires ever to shadow over New York City. POWERLESS: "WAYNE OR LOSE"

NBC has released a description for "Wayne or Lose," the series premiere episode of Powerless, scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 2 at 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

Here's how the episode is described:

"In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer.

"Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss Van Wayne (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don't need superpowers to be a hero."

Danny Pudi, Christina Kirk and Ron Funches also star.

THE SIMPSONS: "THE GREAT PHATSBY"

Fox has released images and a description from "The Great Phatsby," the one-hour episode of The Simpsons premiering on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).

Here's how Fox describes the episode:

"Mr. Burns tries to relive his glory days, and crosses paths with a mysterious music mogul. After being conned by him and reduced to bankruptcy, Burns seeks revenge on the music producer with the help of Homer, Bart, rapper Jazzy James (guest voice Keegan-Michael Key) and the mogul's ex-wife, Praline (guest voice Taraji P. Henson), along with Snoop Dogg, Common and RZA (guest-voicing as themselves)."

PENNY DREADFUL IN APRIL Titan Comics has released six covers for its Penny Dreadful ongoing series, scheduled to launch on April 5. The comic book picks up six months after the shocking events of Season Three from Showtime TV series.

Written by Penny Dreadful TV series co-executive producer Chris King, with interior art from Jesus Hervas, this new comic sees Ethan Chandler unable to move on. As he searches desperately for meaning in a world without Vanessa, ancient words echo across the centuries, and he is called on once again to take up arms against the creatures crawling out of the night!.

The first issue features six covers, including art from Stephen Mooney, Rob Davis, Shane Pierce and Louie De Martinis and two photo variants covers that connect.
