MARVEL COMICS TOPS AUGUST SALES
Marvel Comics was again the top publisher for August, according to sales figures released by Diamond Distributors on Thursday morning.
Marvel had 35.01 percent of the dollar share to second-place DC Comics' 28.18 percent. Marvel had 39.52 percent of the unit share to 31.09 percent for DC.

IDW PUBLISHING'S STRETCH ARMSTRONG
IDW Publishing has announced a January debut for Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters, a series based on the new Netflix animated series and inspired by the classic toy line.
Here's how IDW describes the book:
"Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters features Jake Armstrong, a teenage superhero who teams up with his high school friends after they are exposed to experimental chemicals that give them amazing powers. Along with his partners Ricardo Perez, AKA Omni-Mass, and Nathan Park, AKA Wingspan, they're a diverse group of heroes who attend high school by day and fight crime by night in the futuristic Charter City!"
The comics will be written by series executive producers and head writers Kevin Burke and Chris Wyatt, with art by Nikos Koutsis. Cover art will be provided by Aluir Amancio and Koutsis. Burke and Wyatt developed Stretch Armstrong for television in collaboration with fellow executive producer, Victor Cook.
"We're so excited to bring Stretch Armstrong into comics with IDW," Burke said. "Our teen superhero TV series is very much influenced by classic comics, so Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters having their own monthly print adventures feels like a perfect fit."
"We're carefully designing the Stretch Armstrong comic book stories to work as stand alones for people who haven't seen the Netflix series yet, but to also reward viewers of the show with more depth on their favorite characters," Wyatt said. "We're having a blast writing these issues."
BOOM! STUDIOS' BODIE TROLL
BOOM! Studios has announced a February release for Bodie Troll, a graphic novel written and illustrated by Jay Fosgitt.
The graphic novel comes in at more than 250 pages and includes all the content previously published by Red 5 Comics, plus original stories about Bodie’s continuing adventures.
Here's how BOOM! describes the book:
The villagers of Hagadorn whisper tales of Bodie Troll's ferociousness and tread lightly when they cross his bridge. At least, that's what Bodie would like to think. Despite his desires to strike fear in the hearts of others, Bodie is a cute and cuddly grump of a troll. But what he might lack in ferocity, he makes up for in spirit. Alongside his best friend Cholly and her Fairy Godmother, Bodie has a habit of finding trouble and adventure. If he's lucky, he just might scare someone along the way.
"While Bodie dreams of being the villain of this fairytale world, despite his best efforts, he inevitably winds up the hero every time," Fosgitt said.
"My inspiration for Bodie Troll was my love of fairytales, folklore, and mythology. I wanted to imbue it with anachronistic humor to make the characters and their stories relatable to our own world, while having a warm heart at the center of the silliness. I wanted to create something that Jim Henson would have appreciated."
