BOOM! STUDIOS' HOTEL DARE

BOOM! Studios has announced an April 2019 release for Hotel Dare, an original graphic novel written by Terry Blas and drawn by Claudia Aguirre.

Here's how BOOM! describes the book:

"This world-hopping fantasy follows Olive and her adopted siblings, Darwin and Charlotte, as they spend their summer with their estranged grandma Mama Lupe at her creepy hotel in Mexico. When their boring chores lead them to discover a secret hiding behind every door of the hotel -- thanks to a mysterious ancient mask -- the kids are transported to three magical worlds filled with space Pirates, bearded Wizards, and cotton-candied kingdoms. But if theyfre gonna save these three worlds from certain jeopardy, theyfll need to embrace the love and acceptance of family...before they tear themselves apart!"

"Hotel Dare is the exact kind of story I've always wanted to write: an all-ages adventure featuring a diverse family that spans worlds and times," Blas said. "To bring this type of story to life, featuring characters from some of the largest minority groups with the least amount of representation is important to me and hopefully it will connect with people of all backgrounds, interests and ages."

"Hotel Dare is the ultimate adventure book I would have loved as a kid; world-hopping action, and a cast of lovable Latino characters who take on the mantle of heroes," Aguirre said. "Who doesn't like a story with a heroic Mexican abuelita? I am very proud to be the artist for this amazing adventure for all ages. I'm hoping it will connect with you too, and make you feel like part of the Dare family!"

BRIEFLY

TITAN'S MILLENNIUM: Titan Comics has announced an August 15 launch for The Girl Who Danced With Death - Millennium, written by Sylvain Runberg, with art by Belen Ortega and covers by Claudia Ianniciello and Ortega.

Here's how Titan describes the book:

"Lisbeth Salander returns in this gripping English translation of the French comics. This time around, we find Lisbeth preparing to hack a gigantic data centre and expose the Swedish secret service's secret files. Unfortunately, nothing is simple, and Lisbeth once again finds herself in need of Mikael Blomkvist's help when her friend Trinity is kidnapped. In a world of conspiracy and mistrust, their investigation soon leads them to the obscure group known only as 'Sparta.'"

AGE OF COLOR: Eric Shanower will release full-color editions of his historical fiction series beginning on Sept. 12 with Age of Bronze, Vol. 1: A Thousand Ships.

"I'm really happy to present Age of Bronze in color at last," said Shanower. "Color gives an exciting new dimension to the story. John Dallaire has been great to work with, and I hope readers will really love the new look."
