MARVEL COMICS NEWS ROUNDUP

Marvel Comics has scheduled Sept. 26 for the release of Domino Annual #1.

Here's how Marvel describes the book:

"Gail Simone is joined by a host of superstar creators, including Deadpool co-creator Fabian Nicieza, Dennis Hopeless and Leah Williams, to bring you new and exciting adventures featuring everyonefs favorite femme fatale -- with art by Victor Ibanez, Juan Gedeon, Natacha Bustos, Leonard Kirk and more!"

"Everyone's been asking where this partnership between Domino, Diamondback, and Outlaw began," said editor Chris Robinson. "But there's so much to cover in the present with Domino's newest antagonists that we couldn't take a pause from the action. When the opportunity arose to break that story in Domino Annual #1, the team jumped at it!"

Cable and Colossus, two of Domino's most requested ex-flames make a return -- but one reunion will prove to be bittersweet.

NEW AVENGERS ARTIST: Marvel has David Marquez as new artists of Avengers as he joins writer Jason Aaron with #8 on Sept. 19 for the launch of the four-part "World Tour" story arc.

Here's how Marvel describes the story:

"The world has been shaken after the battle against the Dark Celestials...and the new Avengers team is literally on top of the world in their new headquarters, Avengers Mountain. Now that our team of heroes have been fully formed, what does that mean for the rest of the world?"

"Dark secrets lurk in the shadows of the Avengers' new headquarters as the team is finally assembled and ready to face the greatest threats the world has to offer," said editor Tom Brevoort. "And it's a good thing, too, because trouble-spots are erupting all over the globe -- beginning with an attack by Namor, the Sub-Mariner! It all leads up to and into our big 700th issue in just a few months, as we showcase just why we're considering Avengers the crossroads of the Marvel Universe, the place where elements from every aspect of our far-flung cosmology clash."

ICEMAN RETURNS: Iceman will return in a new series in September, written by previous series writer Sina Grace, with art by Nathan Stockman.

The new series follows Iceman as he adjusts to super hero life after being a part of the X-Mencwhich isnft as easy as he expects.

"Iceman got to try his hand being a leader in the pages of X-Men Gold. While hefs fine enough running a team, he knows itfs not where his strengths are best put to use," Grace said. "He's still sorting out how he fits in this world when he discovers that morlocks are disappearing in the sewers. What he uncovers in the catacombs is far more terrifying than he could have imagined. From there? Things get really bad."

THE UNSTOPPABLE WASP IN OCTOBER

Marvel Comics has announced an Oct. 3 launch for The Unstoppable Wasp, a new series from writer Jeremy Whitley and artist Gurihuru.

Here's how Marvel describes the book:

"Nadia's new story finds her teaming up with Agents of G.I.R.L. and Janet Van Dyne to uncover mysterious connections between A.I.M. and Nadiafs father, Hank Pym."

"I think we're going to see a lot more of the Nadia we got to know in the last two issues of the first volume, one who doesn't have all of the answers," Whitley said. "It wasn't so long ago that Nadia was a part-time Avenger with very few social obligations. Now she's a Champion, has responsibilities with G.I.R.L., and has a lot more people in her life than she ever has before. A lot of this first story is going to be about how Nadia reacts to having so many more commitments in her life. We're also going to deal a lot more with what she's inherited from Hank, both in her civilian life and as the Wasp. Hank's had more than his fair share of enemies -- and right now, he's off making more."

TITAN COMICS' NEWBURY & HOBBES

Titan Comics has announced a September launch for Newbury & Hobbes, a new steampunk adventure from writer George Mann, who brings his series of steampunk mystery novels to comics to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2018, preceding the release of The Revenant Express next year.

The Newbury & Hobbes novel series follows special agents Sir Maurice Newbury and Miss Victoria Hobbes as they traverse the menacing lands of Victorian England, solving extraordinary crimes.

In celebration of the anniversary of the Newbury & Hobbes novels, Titan Comics is publishing installments of a brand-new Newbury & Hobbes prose short story, written by George Mann, in each issue of the new comic series. The comic series also features the shocking return of Dr. Aubrey Knox -- the rogue agent and occultist -- who was left for dead in the final pages of The Osiris Ritual, back in 2009.

"Ifm delighted to be bringing Newbury & Hobbes to comics, and even more excited to be working with the excellent Dan Boultwood and the team at Titan Comics, who have worked wonders in bringing their world and its people to life," Mann said. "It seems particularly apt that on their 10th anniversary, Newbury and Veronica are about to embark on a brand-new adventure, filled with creeping horrors, eerie mysteries, terrifying chases and the sinister return of one of the most dangerous villains they've ever encountered, from The Osiris Ritual, Dr. Aubrey Knox."

"Monsters, foggy old London town, steam-powered vehicles, masked subterfuge, fine suits and ladies bustles, all the things I love to draw are in Newbury & Hobbes," Boultwood said. "This book has been a lot of fun to work on. As a fan of the novels I've loved being able to be a part of bringing one of their stories to visual life, and it's a great story!"

Covers for the first issue are from Boultwood, Chris Wildgoose and Arianna Florean.
