JOIVAN WADE CAST AS CYBORG FOR DOOM PATROL

Warner Bros. Television has announced that Joivan Wade will be joining the Doom Patrol TV series in the role of Cyborg.

Here's how the character is described:

"Charming and sarcastic, Vic may be connected to every computer on the world, but he struggles to maintain the connections that make him human. Desperate to gain acceptance from the outside world, Vic harnesses the curse of his cybernetic body and uses his powers as the ultimate hero for the digital age."

In the show's description, it's suggested that the Doom Patrol will be called to action by Cyborg, who comes to them with "a mission that's hard to refuse, but with a warning that's hard to ignore."

Whether Cyborg be a formal part of the team alongside already announced cast members April Bowlby as Elasti-Girl and Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane is uncertain at this time.

Wade is an English actor who has worked consistently in British TV, notably with a multi-episode role on the popular soap EastEnders and a memorable appearance on Doctor Who. His most prominent recent appearance was in this summer's The First Purge.

Doom Patrol will be a follow up to DC Universe's live-action Titans.

Here's how the movie is described:

"Cyborg discovers an imminent threat in the depths of the oceans so powerful that it rallies together the newly formed Justice League. Meanwhile, wandering thousands of feet above the ocean floor is drifter Arthur Curry, a man with strange powers who may be the last chance to bridge the ancient Atlantean world with our own. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest of DC's Justice League must band together as they face off against warmongering Orm, an army of sea creatures, otherworldly weapons and perilous odds. In this all-new epic adventure from the DC Universe, mankind's only hope of escaping from the darkness lies with the guiding light of a man -- Aquaman!"

The cast features Matt Lanter as Aquaman, Sam Witwer as Orm, Jason O'Mara as Batman, Christopher Gorham as Flash, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Shemar Moore as Cyborg, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Jerry O'Connell as Superman, Sean Astin as Shazam, Sumalee Montano as Mera, Sirena Irwin as Queen Atlanna and Harry Lennix as Manta.

"We believe Black Cat is enough of her own character with a great backstory and a canon of material to draw from to justify her own film," said Sanford Panitch, president of Columbia Pictures.
