MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.: "FEAR AND LOATHING ON THE PLANET OF KITSON"

ABC has released a description and images from gFear and Loathing on the Planet of Kitson," the episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiering on Friday, May 24 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT).

Here's how the episode is described:

"It's a wild night out on the planet of Kitson for the agents. While Fitz and Enoch try their luck at the casino, nearby, Daisy and Simmons find themselves in a much ... groovier situation."

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE TIE-INS

Marvel has announced Absolute Carnage tie-in titles debuting this August, including the new limited series Scream, featuring the return of a classic symbiote -- the daughter of Venom.

SPAWN REACHES 300TH ISSUE

Image Comics has announced creators for Spawn #300, a 72-page issue to be in stores on August 29.

Following his work on DC Comics' iconic Batman, Greg Capullo will be the main featured interior artist on Spawn #300, Creator Todd McFarlane, will return to pencil and ink interior artwork of the character he created during his high school days.

"I created Spawn back when I was a teenager hoping to someday break into the comic book industry,h said Todd McFarlane, who is also Image Comics president. "Now, over 40 years later, not only was I able to have a career drawing and writing comics, but Spawn has been by my side for most of that journey. Even more exciting, Spawn is becoming the longest running creator-owned comic in the world!

"The group of creative folks helping out on this historic Spawn 300th issue is something that I hope thrills the inner 15-year-old in all of us. Plus, to have Greg Capullo come back to this title after so many long years, is what has me most excited as I personally consider him to be the top talent drawing in our industry today,"

Also contributing are current Soawn artist, Jason Shawn Alexander, J. Scott Campbell, Jerome Opema and writer Scott Snyder.

The issue will feature 12 covers by McFarlane, Capullo, Campbell, Opena, and Alexander, including gorgeous black and white "Artist Edition" variants showcasing the original, inked artwork of both Capullo and McFarlane. This issue will retail for $7.99.

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: THE CHOSEN ONES

BOOM! Studios has announced an August 28 release for Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Chosen Ones, a one-shot.

Here's how BOOM! describes the book:

Buffy Summers is the 'Chosen One; who must defend Sunnydale from vampires, demons and those regular monsters called high schoolers...but she wasn't the first. Now, discover the first full appearances of the Slayers from past eras first seen. on special variants covers to Buffy the Vampire Slayer in this landmark one-shot.

"In 18th century California, a young woman discovers she's the Chosen One and changes the course of Slayer history forever, in a new story from writer Mairghread Scott and artist Ornella Savarese, that also reveals the hidden origins of the Hellmouth; the new Slayer first seen on the cover to Buffy the Vampire Slayer #2 comes to life in 14th century Italy from writer and artist Celia Lowenthal and more."

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Chosen Ones #1 features a main cover by Evan Cagle, along with a variant cover by Helen Yoon featuring a Slayer from 16th century Marusthali, India and a cover by Alexa Sharpe.

IDW'S NAPOLEON DYNAMITE: IDW Publishing has announced a September launch for Napoleon Dynamite.

Here's how the book is described:

"Written by the sibling team of Carlos Guzman-Verdugo and Alejandro Verdugo (of Time Cheetah), with art by Jorge Monlongo, the four-issue series takes us back to Idaho, where Napoleon's best friend Pedro is student body president. But the good times might not last when a fellow student accuses Pedro of cheating in the election. Can Napoleon and Deb use their special skills to clear their friend before the principal can 'Impeach Pedro'?"

"Napoleon Dynamite is a pop-culture staple, a coming-of-age cult classic that spoke to the weirdo in all of us," Verdugo said.
