BLOODSHOT TO HOME VOD

Sony Pictures has announced that the Bloodshot movie will be available for digital purchase beginning Tuesday.

The announcement follows movie theaters closing around the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"Sony Pictures is firmly committed to theatrical exhibition and we support windowing," Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman. "This is a unique and exceedingly rare circumstance where theaters have been required to close nationwide for the greater good and Bloodshot is abruptly unavailable in any medium. Audiences will now have the chance to own Bloodshot right away and see it at home, where we are all spending more time. We are confident that -- like other businesses hit hard by the virus -- movie theaters will bounce back strongly, and we will be there to support them."

Bloodshot has pulled in $9.9 million domestically and $24.5 million worldwide.

With that in mind, Diamond Comic Distributors has made the difficult decision to postpone the event to a date later in the summer."

"The severity and timing of the impact of the COVID-19 virus canft be predicted with any certainty, but the safety of our retailer partners and comic book fans is too important to risk. ARCHIE COMICS' BETTY COOPER: SUPERTEEN

\

Archie Comics has announced a June 10 release for Betty Cooper: Superteen, a one-shot from writer Danielle Paige and artist Brittney Williams.

Here's how Archie describes the series:

"In this fresh starting point for new Superteen fans, Betty is gifted with superpowers and takes the opportunity to level up her constant efforts to help people. But a new villain is on the scene, as well, and it looks like it might be her BFF, Veronica!"

"I've gotten to write everything from soaps to Oz to fairytales to Mera and Aquaman," Paige said. "Betty and Veronica's friendship/rivalry is just as epic as those worlds with all its history and drama. And giving Betty and Veronica superpowers super-charges their conflict. I hope that readers enjoy turning the pages as much as loved writing them. And getting to partner with Brittney Williams, whose art just surges with girl power and creativity, was such a joy."

Williams said, "Betty Cooper, a teenage superhero; how cool is that?! You don't want to miss Betty take on friends and foes in this new series! The art is very similar to what I previously did with Betty and Veronica; The Bond of Friendship, but with some film noir elements and classic superhero looks mixed in."

Covers for the first issue are by Michael Allred, Emanuela Luppacchino, Marguerite Sauvage and Michael Walsh. Betty's costume was designed by Robbi Rodriguez.
