MARVEL'S SPIDER-MAN: MAXIMUM VENOM PREMIERE

Marvel's Spider-Man: Maximum Venom is scheduled to premiere in April on Disney XD.

The episode, "Web of Venom," is scheduled to air on Sunday April 19, 9 p.m.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"When Spider-Man and Max Modell experiment on a sample of Venom symbiote, it escapes and unleashes a weapon of unknown purpose."

Here's how the show is described:

"The web-slinging series follows Peter Parker, who is learning to navigate life as the teenage superhero Spider-Man. Now going into his third year at Horizon High, Peter is confident he can handle anything that comes his way, but hefs pushed to his breaking point when Venom summons an earth-shattering threat from its home planet."

The cast includes Robbie Daymond as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Ben Pronsky as Venom, Fred Tatasciore as Max Modell, Nadji Jeter as Miles Morales, Melanie Minichino as Anya Corazon/Spider-Girl, Laura Bailey as Gwen Stacy/Ghost-Spider, Scott Menville as Grady Scraps, Felicia Day as Mary Jane Watson, Max Mittelman as Harry Osborn/Hobgoblin, Yuri Lowenthal as Curt Connors and Nancy Linari as Aunt May.

Supervising producers are Kari Rosenberg, Kevin Burke and Chris "Doc" Wyatt. Executive producers are Executive producers are Alan Fine, Joe Quesada, Dan Buckley, Cort Lane, Eric Radomski and Marsha Griffin.

TITAN COMICS' HORIZON ZERO DAWN

Titan Comics has set a July 22 launch date for Horizon Zero Dawn, a new series set the world of PS4 video game.

Here's how Titan describes the book:

"Set on a far future Earth, where nature has reclaimed the planet but massive, animal-like machines now rule the land, Horizon Zero Dawn follows the story of Aloy, an extraordinary young woman whose quest to solve the riddle of her mysterious origins takes her deep into the ruins of the ancient past."

Titan's comic book series -- co-created by Anne Toole, one of the writers of Horizon Zero Dawn game, with artwork by artist Ann Maulina -- takes place after the events of the game as Talanah, a strong and determined hunter, struggles to find purpose after her trusted friend Aloy disappears. When a mysterious threat emerges in the wilds, she sets out to hunt and to defeat it, only to learn that a whole new breed of killer machines stalk the land!

The first issue features covers by Stanley "Artgerm" Lau, Loish and Peach Momoko.

"Fans are going to absolutely love the stories we have to tell of Talanah and Aloy as we expand the Horizon Zero Dawn universe in this new comic series," said editor Tolly Mags. "I'm really excited to see their reaction when this explosive new story arrives."



ASPEN COMICS' MICHAEL TURNER CREATIONS

Aspen Comics has announced Michael Turner Creations, what its calls its "most ambitious publication to date."

Lauching Wednesday on Kickstarter,

"Michael Turner Creations is a prestige-format oversized hardcover with slipcase collecting all of Michael Turner's iconic Aspen Comics work, highlighted by his flagship creations Fathom and Soulfire, as well as his work on the Ekos Preview. This 600-plus page hardcover will include the entirety of Fathom and Soulfire Volume One, the best-selling volumes of each respective series. In addition to the aforementioned material, the publisher is including a foreword by Michael Turner's mother, Grace Crick, along with the founder of Marvel Studios' David Maisel, the chief architect of the Turner-verse, the planned feature film slate by Mythos Studios based upon Turner's work."

Aspen has brought on cover artists such as Siya Oum, Alex Konat, Jordan Gunderson, Talent Caldwell, Tyler Kirkham, David Mack and Kendrick Lim for a variety of Michael Turner Creations dust jackets available exclusively in the Kickstarter campaign. Plus, the publisher will be offering a signed dust jacket by artist Alex Ross.

For the first time, the publisher is opening up its vaulted Turner original art collection from his personal sketchbook and offering a selection of original layouts, sketches and fully illustrated pieces drawn by Turner across multiple reward tiers. This selection of original art and sketches dates back to Turner's Witchblade run and into his Fathom and Soulfire work, then into his later years on the iconic Marvel and DC Comics titles such as Civil War and Identity Crisis.

The publisher is also debuting new Aspen Comics merchandise, featured items such as a Grace plush doll from Soulfire, new Aspen Comics Fathom and Soulfire acrylic figures, Kickstarter exclusive comics, and several new Turner-related items and products for purchase as add-ons.



BRIEFLY

STARGIRL DATE: The CW has changed the premiere of Stargirl, starring Brec Bassinger, Luke Wilson and Amy Smart, to Tuesday, May 19.

Stagirl will air on The CW one day after it makes its digital debut on the DC Universe subscription service. Additionally, every episode of DC's Stargirl will be available to stream on The CW's free digital platforms (CWTV.com and The CW app), following its broadcast on The CW Network.

Stagirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series. The series focuses on the character that started Geoff Johns' career as a comic-book writer when he created her in 1999, inspired by his late sister who was killed in a 1996 plane crash.

MAD CAVE DELAYS: Mad Cave Studios has announced that it will be delaying each of its debut series for the foreseeable future. In addition, in response to Diamond Comic Distributors; announcement, Mad Cave will also be delaying any book shipping in April by about a month, assessing the situation on a weekly basis and adjusting accordingly.

TALKING DEAD: Guests on Sunday night's episode of AMC's Talking Dead include The Walking Dead cast members Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Ryan Hurst, plus comedian Ron Funches.
