SYFY'S WYNONNA EARP: SEASON 4

Syfy, CTV Sci-Fi, IDW Entertainment, SEVEN24 Films and Cineflix Media have announced that its series, Wynonna Earp is set to premiere its fourth season on Sunday, July 26 at 10 p.m. (ET)/9 p.m. (CT) on Syfy.

Due to the enforced production break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the first six episodes will culminate in a mid-season finale airing on Sunday, August 30 on SYFY. Production on the final six episodes of the fourth season is slated to resume later this summer in Calgary.

Here's how Syfy describes the upcoming season:

"The infamous Earp Curse is broken, and witty and wild demon hunter Wynonna Earp would love to be celebrating with cold whisky and hot donuts. Too bad she has to rescue everyone she loves, save the town of Purgatory, and take on her most diabolical, Earp-hating enemy yet -- all without her trustworthy gun, Peacemaker. And that's just Monday..."

Additionally, Wynonna Earp will join the panel lineup for Comic-Con@Home, the virtual program for San Diego Comic-Con that runs from July 23-26. The panel is expected to include special appearances by Emily Andras, Melanie Scrofano, Tim Rozon, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, Katherine Barrell and Varun Saranga.

MARVEL COMICS' WARHAMMER 40,000

Marvel Comics has announced an October launch for Warhammer 40,000: Marneus Calgar, a new series from writer Keron Gillen and artist Jacen Burrows.

Here's how Marvel describes the book:

"A legendary Space Marine Chapter Master of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Marneus Calgar leads his elite Ultramarines against humanity's greatest threats and has had his dark past shrouded in mystery...until now. This October, writer Kieron Gillen and artist Jacen Burrows will unite to tell Marneus Calgar's never-before-told origin story -- from his beginnings on the world of Nova Thulium, his campaigns in the Black Crusades, and to the unfolding mystery of the Black Altar as a deadly threat from his past reemerges to threaten the present of the Ultramar system."

Gillen is a veteran player of the Warhammer tabletop miniature wargame.

"I am venerable enough to have bought Rogue Trader in 1987," Gillen said. "Since then, I like to think every hastily dry-brushed Necron, every badly edge-highlighted Marine, every ignored Harlequin -- as painting Motley petrified me -- has prepared me for writing the first Warhammer comics for Marvel.

"If I said, 'Getting to explore the roots of Marneus Calgar and setting the stage for Marvel's Warhammer comics is a dream come true,' I would be betraying everything this grim future should be since 'dream' implies the possibility of hope. But getting to do this is the sort of thing Slaanesh would wave in my direction if she wanted me coming over to the tentacle-y side."

Jon Gillard, Games Workshop's Global Head of Licensing. said, "When we first started working with Marvel on comics, we knew it was going to lead to something exceptional, and it really has. We were both keen to focus on one of the most central Warhammer characters there is and tell their origin story, something that Marvel does oh so brilliantly. Kieron's depth of Warhammer knowledge mixed with his extraordinary comic writing skill has delivered a unique series that further expands upon the already massive 40K lore. As huge comic fans ourselves we couldn't be more excited about this first expression of our partnership with Marvel."
