JOHN CENA TALKS PEACEMAKER

John Cena was a guest on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night and talked about playing DC Comics' Peacemaker, both in The Suicide Sqaud sequel and in the upcoming Peacemaker series on HBO Max.

"I think the most important thing as far as the Suicide Squad is concerned is the name James Gunn," Cena said of the writer/director. "And people know James and his passion to tell a story and his passion to weave a narrative and develop characters you care about.

"A perfect template for that is Guardians (of the Galaxy). As just as a general moviegoer, I know nothing about Guardians, but five minutes into the movie, I care about the characters. That's what he does so well."

Cena said transitioning to the HBO Max series was easy to consider.

"I really loved Suicide Squad, I love crazy James," Cena said. "And he was like, 'Hey man, we should do this again. Yeah, we should do this again.' And pretty soon it was like, "You want to do a show for HBO Max?' I was like, 'What? Yes!'"
