MS. MARVEL CONCLUDES IN JANUARY

Marvel Comics has announced that writer Saladin Ahmed and artist Minkyu Jung will end their run on The Magnificent Ms. Marvel with an oversized 18th and final issue in January.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"Ahmed and Jung will end this thrilling journey with an issue that sees Ms. Marvel facing down Stormranger with the help of new hero Amulet, all while confronting the ongoing drama surrounding her family and friends. The special giant-sized issue also happens to the be the 75th issue of Kamala Khan's solo adventures and will be a worthy capstone to a run that has greatly enhanced the legacy of one of Marvel’s brightest stars."

"Forget super heroes, Kamala Khan is just plain one of the most important fictional characters of her generation," Ahmed said. "I knew that was true even before I came to write comics. But meeting and hearing from fans since launching The Magnificent Ms. Marvel has made it clearer and clearer. Kamala means so much to so many! Muslim readers. South Asian readers. But also people of all ages and cultures from all over the world who want to root for a selfless, kindhearted -- possibly slightly dorky -- hero in this grim, stingy era.

"Minkyu Jung's pencils and designs went effortlessly from the streets of Jersey City to the alien plains of Saffa to night sky battles, always maintaining the human emotion that drives this book. From homicidal battlesuits to awkward conversations, he constantly pushed our story in new visual directions. I can't imagine a more perfect artist for this run, and I'm so happy we got to work together.

"Of course a hero's myth becomes most fully realized when it is passed between storytellers, changing with each telling. We've brought Kamala face to face with new enemies and to new places in her personal life, sent her to space and to the edge of the law. Now others will tell her story their way. I can't wait to see what that looks like."

Ms. Marvel will continue to be featured in Champions.

"Over the years, Ms. Marvel has drawn fans everywhere into the Marvel Universe through her heroism, her strength, and her quintessential story about what it means to be a hero -- a story that we all can hear and relate to," said Marvel editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski. "Saladin and Minkyu's run on Ms. Marvel took that journey to thrilling new heights within the Marvel Universe, and the creative team here has been truly magnificent. We are so excited to show you what's in store for Kamala next. More news to come in 2021!"

BRIEFLY

MORE MAESTRO: Marvel Comics has announced a January launch for Maestro: War and Pax, a five-issue series from writer Peter David, artist Javier Pina and cover artist Dale Keown.

Here's how Marvel describes the series:

"The man once known as the Hulk now answers only to The Maestro! After deposing Dystopia's ancient ruler, the Maestro will now set his sights even higher. With unbridled ambitions, Maestro decides it's time for the entire planet Earth to recognize him as their one true god! But the Maestro will soon find out that he isn’t the only immortal left...and if he wants to truly dominate the planet, he'll have to face the most powerful beings in creation!"

"I am thrilled that, twenty years after I created him, the Maestro still intrigues people so much that the first series garnered the sort of success that demanded a follow-up," David said. "As long as folks want to keep reading about him, I'm happy to keep giving them stories."

HULK CRASH: Marvel Comics has announced a January release for Immortal Hulk: Flatline, from writer/artist Declan Shalvey.

Here's how Marvel describes the book:

"Every morning, Bruce Banner wakes up in a new place. The Hulk is trying to tell him something -- but Bruce has had enough of his green-veined alter. When a new gamma-powered villain shows up in a small New Mexico town, Bruce is forced to confront the source of his anger...and it's nothing that fans will expect."

"What Al Ewing and Joe Bennett have accomplished with Immortal Hulk is astounding. I love how the book has given the character a new twist that has expanded what can be done with -- and said about -- the character," Shalvey said. "To get to play in this particular sandbox with this one-shot is such a thrill, it's a great challenge as a storyteller, to add to this new mythology as both a writer and artist. Big, Hulk-sized boots to fill, I hope it lives up to the great work already accomplished by the Immortal Hulk team."

SNOWPIERCER ON BLU-RAY: Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced a Jan. 26 release date for Snowpiercer: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray and DVD.

Here's how the TNT show is described:

"Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1001 cars, that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation."

In addition to the 10 one-hour episodes, the collection will include the following features:

* Overview

* Class Warfare

* Jennifer (Connelly) & Daveed (Diggs) -- Behind The Scenes Interview
