BRIEFLY

THE CW'S NEW BATWOMAN: The CW has unveiled an image of Javicia Leslie in full Batwoman costume.

Leslie is taking over the role in Season 2 as Ryan Wilder, described as "likable, messy, a little goofy and untamed. She is also nothing like Kate Kane with no one in her life to keep her on track, Ryan spent years as a drug-runner, dodging the GCPD and masking her pain with bad habits. Today Ryan lives in her van with her plant. A girl who would steal milk for an alley cat and could kill you with her bare hands, Ryan is the most dangerous type of fighter: highly skilled and wildly undisciplined. An out lesbian. Athletic. Raw. Passionate. Fallible and very much not your stereotypical All-American hero."

"I am extremely proud to be the first black actress to play the iconic role of Batwoman on television, and as a bisexual woman, I am honored to join this groundbreaking show which has been such a trailblazer for the LGBTQ+ community," Leslie said..

PASCAL TALKS WONDER WOMAN: While promoting Star Wars: The Mandalorian on ABC's Good Morning America on Tuesday, Pedro Pascal also talked briefly about playing Maxwell Lord in Wonder Woman 1884.

"It was heaven," Pascal said. "it was one of the best times I could ever have on a job. Patty Jenkins. Gal Gadot. Kristen Wiig. Chris Pine.

"It was an experience that i'll never forget. I think there's always such a human side to everything that Patty Jenkins does, so even a role of viilain's to be is unexpected in this one, where as soon as you sort of think that you'll be getting the portrait of the evil snake oil salesman from the 80s, there's more to it. And that's only one of the many exciting things about that movie that I am just desperate for people to see. it's a good one. It's a really good one."

Wonder Woman 1984 will be in theaters on Dec. 25.

STARGRIL CASTING: According to Deadline, Nick Tarabay will play the series regular role of Eclipso and Jonathan Cake will recur as The Shade in Season 2 of DC's Stargirl. Additionally, Ysa Penarejo will recur as an undisclosed DC character.
