TITAN COMICS' BLADE RUNNER ORIGINS

Titan Comics has unveiled the cover line-up for the first issue, as well as two new characters, for Blade Runner Origins #1 in February.

The series is written by K. Perkins and Mellow Brown, with art by Fernando Dagnino.

Here's how the series is described:

"A senior bioengineer for the Tyrell Corp is found hanging in her sealed laboratory, the victim of an apparent suicide. LAPD Detective Cal Moreaux -- a war-scarred veteran of the bloody Off-world conflict known as Kalanthia, as depicted in the Blackout 2022 Blade Runner anime -- is sent to write it up, quickly, quietly and with the minimum of fuss. But something doesn't sit right with the detective, and it soon becomes apparent that this is anything but a 'normal' suicide. Did the scientist's ground-breaking research on Nexus-model Replicants somehow contribute to her death? And is the apparent disappearance of a prototype Nexus unit also connected to the case? Det. Moreaux's investigation will draw him into a dark conspiracy behind Dr. Tyrell's Replicant empire."

The first issue features covers by Peach Momoko, Stanley "Artgerm" Lau, Robert Hack, Piotr Kowalski and Dagnino.

Below are characters designs for LAPD Detective Cal Moreaux and Ilora Stahl.

BRIEFLY

BOOM!'S LUNA:BOOM! Studios has announced a February launch for Luna, an original five-issue series by Maria Llovet.

Here's how BOOM! describes the book:

"In this darkly erotic series, an innocent young woman finds herself drawn to a mysterious commune where the search for immortality and the true power of enduring love collide.

"When Teresa fatefully crosses paths with the Family of the Sun, she believes them to be exactly what anyone else in the late '60s would expect - a hippie cult whose leader claims to have met the divine. But secret blood rituals, powerful drugs and sex runneth amok will bring Teresa face-to-face with the truth about the Family, herself and the dark secret behind her dreams."

"Luna is a lysergic story about love and destiny, but also betrayal, lies, and the lengths to which we would go in order to protect the ones we love," Llovet said. "This is the first story I've ever written for the monthly comic-book format, and I'm very excited to share it with readers everywhere."

BOOM!'S ORCS: BOOM! Studios has announced a February launch for Orcs!, an original six-issue comic book series by Christine Larsen about a band of misfit Orcs who set off into the great, wide Known World in search of glory and gold but find that the real treasures were the friends they made along the way.

Here's how BOOM! describes the series:

"Join Bog and his crew, who were banished from their Orcish village by King Hrograhgah (it was a simple misunderstanding, involving an acorn-related prank!) and must now venture out into the world to seek their fortune and hopefully, one day, find their way back home again! Bog, Zep, Pez, Utzu and Gurh's many adventures will find them entering the dreaded Eerieasallhel Forest, facing off against Trolls, Gnomes, squirrels and more, and even following in the footsteps of the legendary Orc hero, Dod One-Eye!"

"Orcs! is dedicated to everyone who’s taken an arrow from the hero, who wasn’t more than a nameless menace in the story, who didn't have the looks for the main role -- the quirky sidekicks, goofy henchmen, and army of lackeys," said Larsen. "Goons are heroes, too!"

VERY BRIEFLY: The next episode of Swamp Thing airing on The CW will be "Brilliant Diguise," on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Here's how the network dscribes the episode:

"Still taking on the human appearance of Alec Holland, Swamp Thing guides Abby to an are of the swamp blighted with encroaching rot, but when her life is threatened, he must use his still-developing powers to save her. Maria meets with Nathan."
