BRIEFLY

THE MARVELS: Kurt Busiek's new ongoing series, The Marvels, will debut this April from Marvel Comics.

Here's how Marvel describes the book:

"The previously announced series will be one of the most sprawling series ever to hit the Marvel Universe, telling stories that span the decades and range from epic adventure to intense human drama, from the street-level to the cosmic, starring literally anyone from Marvel's very first heroes to never-before-seen superstars of tomorrow."

Busiek will be joined by artist Yildiry Cinar and cover artist Alex Ross.

"The whole idea of The Marvels is to be able to use the whole Marvel Universe -- not just all the characters in it, but all the history of it. The sweeping scope of the whole thing," Busiek said. "Big stuff can happen in the Marvel Universe, but we usually see it confined largely to the Avengers in Avengers, to the FF in Fantastic Four, and so on. The Marvels is intended as a freewheeling book that can go anywhere, do anything, use anyone. It's a smorgasbord of Marvel heroes and history."

MONDO/DC SOUNDTRACKS: Mondo has announced a Wednesday, Jan. 6 release for Aquaman to kick off its line of DC Comics soundtracks. It will be followed by Shazam!, Doom Patrol Season 1 and 2 and a re-issue of 1976's Superman.

Mondo, in partnership with WaterTower Music, presents the premiere vinyl pressing and premiere physical release of the Deluxe edition of Rupert Gregson-Williams' score for 2016 Aquaman.

This Deluxe edition release features the complete score from the film as well as a disc of Bonus Tracks and Remixes, and includes the songs "Everything I Need" performed by Skylar Grey and "Ocean To Ocean" performed by Pitbull featuring Rhea.

Pressed on 3x 180 Gram Translucent colored vinyl with splatter, the release features original artwork by Pascal Blanche and is housed in a tri-fold jacket.

ROBOTIC STOOGES:American Mythology has announced an April launch for Robotic Stooges.

Here's how the book is described:

"If you remember Saturday morning cartoons, you remember the Robonic Stooges, which originally aired as its own series in 1977 -78. The series featured Moe, Larry, and Curly as robonically-altered bumbling superheroes who operated from their very own junk yard headquarters under the direction of Agent 000 (pronounced Oh-Oh-Oh), who ran the Super Hero Employment Agency! The series was developed by Norman Maurer, Moe Howard's son-in-law and the creative force behind The Three Stooges comics of the 60s and 70s. The standalone series ran for 16 episodes, and American Mythology Comics decided, well, that just wasnĄ¯t enough robo-stoogeness!"

The book will launch with "The Imbecile Gauntlet," by Three StoogesĄ¯ long-time scribe, S.A. Check. The story pits The Robonic Stooges against the inter-galactic threat known as Oreganose.

The second story for the issue, "Fright at the Museum," was written by Jordan Gershowitz, with art by Jorge Pachecho and Philip Murphy.

Cover for the issue is by Eric Shanower and Pacheco.
