THE ART OF AMC'S THE WALKING DEAD UNIVERSE

AMC Networks, Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics have announced The Art of AMC's The Walking Dead Universe, a compilation of behind-the-scenes pre-production and production art from The Walking Dead series: The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

Launching on Sept. 29, the art book will feature never-before-seen original sketches, concept art, storyboards, special product illustrations, and more from the shows inspired by Robert Kirkman's comic book.

The book marks AMC Networks' first venture into book publishing.

The Art of AMC's The Walking Dead Universe is a 240-page hardcover book featuring a wrap-around cover with over 50 characters from all three shows, an introduction by Scott M. Gimple, the chief content officer of The Walking Dead Universe, and fun facts from creators and crew members on all three series.

"Our TWD community has been dedicated to the television series for over a decade now, and as a token of our gratitude we wanted to create this book filled with art, design, and information spanning across the three shows we now have," Kirkman said. "The expansion of this world is truly because of the awesome fanbase we have, and I am forever thankful to them for supporting our stories."

"The Walking Dead Universe is supported and surrounded by one of the most passionate fanbases around and we're thrilled to offer them a new and exciting way to engage with the shows, characters and stories they love," said Mike Zagari, head of AMC Networks Publishing. "his impressive collection of art from across all three series will give readers an inside look at the incredible talent and creativity behind the making of their favorite shows,"

The Art of AMC's The Walking Dead Universe will be available digitally and in print, and sold through book market and comics market, with an exclusive special variant edition available on Skybound.com and a second exclusive special variant edition available on TWDUshop.com.

MARVEL'S WORLD WAR SHE-HULK

Jason Aaron and Javier Garron's run on Avengers continues this July with the World War She-Hulk story line, bringing Jennifer Walters' current journey to a conclusion.

An homage to the 2007 World War Hulk crossover event by Greg Pak, World War She-Hulk will stand on its own as a saga in the Hulk mythos. The arc will see She-Hulk facing off against Red Guardian and the Winter Guard.

Here's how Marvel describes the story:

"After the shocking events of "Enter the Phoenix," the Earth has become more fractured and volatile than ever, especially for the Avengers. Once She-Hulk is declared a global menace, Russia's mightiest heroes, the Winter Guard, are tasked with bringing Jen to justice and face a fate no Hulk could hope to endure."

"When the Russian Winter Guard invade Avengers Mountain to arrest She-Hulk, it sets off a global espionage adventure that takes us from the notorious assassin training academy of the Red Room to an undersea kingdom on the verge of violent revolution," Aaron said. "Along the way, traitors will fall, regimes will crumble and the dark evolution of Jennifer Walters will reach its bloody red crescendo, all as we build toward the epic events of Avengers #50."

Avengers #46 hits stands on July 7.

BRIEFLY

X-MEN VOTE: Marvel Comics has announced that readers chose Polaris to join the new X-Men team that will launch in July following its debut during June's Hellfire Gala.

"The X-Men election was an amazing experience for the whole X-Office," editor Jordan D. White said. "All the creators and editors had a blast seeing the fans; incredible response to this first-of-its-kind event and we were right there along with you rooting for our choices. It was the perfect way to kick off the new X-Men title."

The new book will be written by Gerry Duggan, with art by Pepe Larraz.

"Pepe and I are thrilled to have Polaris aboard this year's X-Men team. Leah (Williams) and David (Baldeon) made her shine in X-Factor, and we're going to make sure she continues to rock in X-Men," Duggan said. "The outline is done and dusted, and every member of the team is going to have their issue not just to be the coolest mutant, but the most important character in the Marvel Universe for one month. Can't wait for you to join us."

According to Marvel, the full X-Men lineup will be revealed on Friday.
