SINS OF SINISTER MARCH TIE-INS

Next month, Mister Sinister wins. Sins Of Sinister will see the iconic X-Men villain's long-term plotting finally pay off as his influence washes over not only Krakoa but the entire Marvel Universe.

The saga will kick off in Sins Of Sinister Alpha #1 before unfolding across three limited series that will replace Immortal X-Men, X-Men Red, and Legion of X starting in February: Immoral X-Men, Storm & The Brotherhood Of Mutants, and Nightcrawlers. Current X-Men writers Kieron Gillen, Al Ewing, and Si Spurrier will pen their respective new titles, joined by artists Paco Medina, Andrea Di Vito and Alessandro Vitti.

Tackling three separate time periods, each superstar artist will draw an issue of all three titles as consecutive issues propel the Marvel Universe further and further into a dark future, dramatically escalating the stakes with each time jump.

In March, the titles will include:

Wagnerine and her gene-spliced assassins are holy thieves, servants to a cosmic cult in Nightcrawlers #2! Let the Heist Liturgy be spoken! Loot the ashes of Asgard! Raid the tombs of Otherworld! Pick the pockets of the Marvel Universe and build the sacred weapon! And let us bear witness to the final fate of the First...the fallen fiend who was once known as Nightcrawler.

* Behold the battle of the X-Planets in Storm & The Brotherhood of Mutants #2 as the Empire of the Red Diamond battles the Cosmic Coalition to decide the fate of a universe. One is the twisted creation of Nathaniel Essex. So is the other one. But between the two... there are rebels. Ororo lives, and her Brotherhood fights on in an epic space battle that means life or death for everything that exists.

* Immoral X-Men #2 will put the "Die" in Diamond Age! Hail the Pax Krakoa! Or perish! But to this hell age is born a hero. Say hello (again) to Rasputin IV...but what can one good chimera do in a universe of sin? The first century of Sinister's plan has come to an end ... and whether it's better or worse may depend on the symbol on your forehead.

BRIEFLY

SCHULZ BIOGRAPHY: In celebration of the cartoonist's recent 100th birthday, Top Shelf Productions has announced an August release for Funny Things: A Comic Strip Biography of Charles M. Schulz, an imaginative and tender-hearted tribute to the man behind Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the Peanuts gang, created in the style of Schulz by Luca Debus and Francesco Matteuzzi.

Starting with the last days of his monumental career, Funny Things jumps back and forth in time to narrate both Schulz's artistic achievements and the personal episodes that formed him as an author and human being.

From full-color Sundays to black-and-white dailies, every strip provides a laugh as well as a piece of insight into his remarkable life story. Filled with affection, charm, and poignant observation, Funny Things imagines Schulz through the lens of the very world he created, inviting us all to meet the man behind the blanket.

"Charles Schulz stated several times that he never created any art in his lifetime," said artist and co-writer Debus. "He believed cartoons belonged to the fleeting nature of newspapers and therefore couldn't stand the test of time. With this book, we want to prove him wrong. By narrating his life, we celebrate his legacy as arguably the most influential cartoonist to ever live and try to understand his complex identity as both the man and the artist behind Peanuts."

*While Schulz was working on his last strip, looking back on five decades of Peanuts characters and situations, he laughed and said: 'I really drew some funny things,'" said co-writer Matteuzzi. "That phrase, Funny Things, stuck with me since I first read it: it's both accurate and a huge understatement of what he accomplished. So simple, and yet so powerful, just like the strips he left us which we will cherish forever."

The book will be a 440-page hardcover and will cost $39.99.
