DARK HORSE COMICS FOR DECEMBER

David Goyer, who wrote the first two Blade movies, provided The Continuum with an update on the third.

"Both Marvel and New Line have approved the story and I've done an outline," Goyer told The Continuum. "I'm currently writing the Descent for Dreamworks, so the Blade III script will be written after that."

Blade II, which exceeded Blade at the box office, appears ready to also top the original in the home market. The DVD and VHS releases of the film topped the charts in sales and rentals categories in its first week of release.

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER SEASON OPENER

UPN has released a logline for "Lessons," the season opener of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Here's how the network describes the episode, which is scheduled to air on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).

"Buffy takes Dawn to her first day at the newly restored Sunnydale High, only to discover that the school still hides the deep, menacing secrets of years past.

"Meanwhile, a remorseful Willow recoups in England and turns to Giles and the cover to learn to control her magic."

"Lessons" was written by series creator and executive producer Joss Whedon. It was directed by David Solomon.

FIRST LOOK: JASON AND THE ARGOBOTS #2

Jason and The Argobots #2 will arrive in stores on Sept. 25 from Oni Press. The issue is by J. Torres and Mike Norton.

Here's how Oni Press describes the issue:

"Shimmer City expected the earthquakes that shook the metropolis to its very foundation, but there was no way they were prepared for a prison break and they definitely weren't ready for this prison break. Voltes Shocklee and GoGo Diablo, an electrically enhanced human and an alien speed demon, are wreaking havoc on this desert oasis and only Jason and his new giant robot Chiron can put them back behind bars where they belong."

Jason and The Argobots #2 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.95.

FIRST LOOK: ARKANIUM #1

Arkanium #1 will arrive in stores on Wednesday from Dreamwave Productions. The issue is written by Brandon M. Easton, penciled by LeSean Thomas, inked by Rob Stull and colored by Chris Walker.

Here's how Dreamwave describes the issue:

"The story begins when the seemingly unrelated lives of two men - Rowan, an American weapons designer and part time mercenary, and Shing, a proud spiritual statesman who works within the newly formed Buddhist government of China - are drawn together by a powerful legion of unspeakable evil: The Children of The Damned and their nefarious leader Moukie. In a race against time, Rowan and Shing must discover what mysterious force links them, what it means, and why they must stop Moukie and the Children of the Damned from unlocking the power of the scrolls."
