X3 UPDATE

X3 has wrapped principal photography in Vancouver and now moves into the post-production phase for its May 26 release.

The film was shot on the same stages as X2, with much of the same crew, and was the biggest production to date in Canada.

Sets for the movie have been held for possible re-shoots if needed.

In other X3 news:

* The Continuum has learned that Arclight will be in the film as a member of the Brotherhood. In the comics, Arclight was a member of the Marauders.

It's a very small part.

* Spectral Motion built the Juggernaut suit that Vinnie Jones wore.

BEAST WARS PREVIEW

IDW Publishing has released a 12-page preview of Transformers: Beast Wars #1, which is targeted for a February release.

The issue is written by Simon Furman, with art and cover by Don Figueroa.

Here's how IDW describes the issue:

"The Beast Wars -- the time-lost series of conflicts on Earth, where heroic Maximals are pitted against evil Predacons -- is celebrating its 10th anniversary with this special miniseries. In chapter one, as one strand of the Beast Wars rages on, another is just beginning. Predacon general Magmatron is on a mission to capture the renegade Megatron, but his true intentions are far more terrifying and revolutionary; his ultimate aim -- to bring Cybertron itself to its knees. All he needs... is an army. And he knows exactly where to find one!"
