PAINKILLER JANE TV UPDATE

Kickstart Entertainment's Jason Netter told The Continuum that production of the Painkiller Jane television series will begin Nov. 13 in Vancouver.

The production start was firmed up with the casting of Kristanna Loken in the lead role.

"We are thrilled to get Kristanna Loken to play Jane," Netter said. "We all believe that the series will create a franchise character and Kristanna has the physicality to play Jane as well as the emotional side that the character needs."

Painkiller Jane is Loken's second involvement with Sci Fi this year; she starred as Brunnhild in Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King in March. Loken is pictured with co-stars Alicia Witt and Benno Fuermann in the image to the right.

Netter said that casting for other roles continues.
