SMALLVILLE UPDATE

The WB has released the first images from the third season of Smallville, two photos from the season opener.

The season opens on Wednesday, Oct. 1 with the "Exile" episode. Smallville is moving from Tuesdays at 9 p.m. (ET) to Wednesdays at 8 p.m. for its third season.

The network has yet to release any details about "Exile" yet, but executive producer Al Gough has said that the third season picks up several weeks after the second season.

Also pictured above is the promotional image The WB is using for the third season with the tag, "He used to be the good guy."

MUTANT X UPDATE

Tribune Entertainment has released episodic photos from the upcoming third season of the Mutant X television series.

The photos show series regulars Victor Webster (who plays Brennan Mulwray), Victoria Pratt (Shalimar Fox), Forbes March (Jesse Kilmartin) and series newcomer Karen Cliche (Lexa Pierce). In addition, there is an image of Tom McCamus, who plays recurring villain Mason Eckhardt.

The third season of Mutant X kicks off the week of Sept. 29 with the episode "Into the Moonless Night."

BRIEFLY

  • The two-part episode "The Green Loontern" of Duck Dodgers will air on Saturday, Oct. 18 on Cartoon Network. In the episode, due to a mistake at the dry cleaners, Duck Dodgers gets a Green Lantern uniform instead of his own. Wearing the garment, mask and ring, Dodgers gains full Green Lantern powers. He must then thwart the wicked Sinestro's plan to usurp the combined power of the Green Lantern Corps. Kevin Smith will provide the voice of Hal Jordan in the episode.

  • Megatokyo will be published by Dark Horse Comics beginning with Volume 2 by Fred Gallagher and Rodney Caston in January.

    Megatokyo, a popular web comic, tells the story of two Americans, Piro and Largo, who fly to Tokyo on a whim only to end up unable to afford tickets home. Rife with references to video game and anime culture both here and in Japan, it is a story that contrasts the cultures, the characters, and their own perceptions of what is around them.

  • DC Comics has announced that Outsiders #3 and Superman: Red Son #3 have both sold out at the publisher. Outsiders #3 sold out two days after its in-store date of Aug. 20, following the quick sell-outs of issues #1 and 2. Superman: Red Son #3 made it the third and final issue of the mini-series to sell out at the publisher.

    DC has no plans to go back to press on these issues, but will continue to assess each sold-out issue on a case-by-case basis.
