WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN: "EXCESSIVE FORCE"

Cyclops takes center stage in "eXcessive Force," Friday's episode of Wolverine and the X-Men on Nicktoons

The network has provided The Continuum the following description of the episode:

"The brooding, heart-sick Scott Summers is so desperate to find the missing Jean Grey that when he spots Harpoon, an old enemy of the X-Men, he goes berserk. Harpoon was an agent of the vile mutant geneticist known as Sinister, someone that Scott believes could be responsible for Jean's abduction.

"Now, based on nothing but his own suspicions, the out-of-control Cyclops forces his way up Sinister's ladder of command, one rung at a time. But the closer Cyclops gets to Sinister himself, the more danger he's in. Wolverine and the X-Men race to find him, but Cyclops is walking into a carefully laid trap. And it could already be too late."

"EXcessive Force" was written by Christopher Yost and directed by Nick Filippi.

Nolan North provides the voice of Cyclops. North was the voice of Deadpool in Hulk vs. and Giant-Man in the two Ultimate Avengers movies.

Clancy Brown, best known in animation as Lex Luthor from the Justice League and Superman series, provides the voice of Sinister. He is also the voice of Rhino in The Spectacular Spider-Man.

BLUEWATER PRODUCTIONS' THE WASPS

Bluewater Productions has announced a 2010 launch for The Wasps, a World War II series from television personality, author and former Air Force captain Reichen Lehmkuhl.

The series centers on WASP (Women Airforce Service Pilots), a select group of women blazed the trail as Air Force aviators. The Wasps -- inspired by the exploits of Lehmkuhl's real-life grandmother and WASP pilot , Betty Turner Stagg -- is a time travel story that follows the adventures of a modern day Air Force pilot trapped in 1942. Along with fighting Nazis, and racing against time to find a mysterious artifact, the hero gets the opportunity to fly and fight alongside his grandmother, a decorated female pilot.

"What attracted me to this story is the dynamic between grandson and grandmother," said Bluewater president Darren G. Davis, "He knows who she is, but can't tell her. There's that thin line between completing the mission and changing history. But most important, it's a love letter to family pride and the bonds of friendship that forge between people in times of danger and adversity."

The Wasps is also being developed as a feature film.

"When I first read the comic book script for this, I fell in love with it," said Lisa K. Brause from Golden House Entertainment, which is developing this property. "Reichen is such an amazing talent, while the story is full of action adventure with a heart. These make the perfect combination to bring to a film."

The comics seires will be written by Lehmkuhl, Davis and Adam Gragg, with art by Jacob Bear.

"I never thought I would have the opportunity to help write, design, and publish a comic-book series,² said Lehmkuhl, best known for his winning stint on CBS' The Amazing Race as well as being a gay advocate. "When Darren approached us about the project, I knew making my story into a comic book would not only help to make an important point in another effective way and would be a great deal of work, but that this project was going to be fun. I've learned so much about this side of the publishing industry and have a new-found respect for those who make it happen."
