THE MIDDLEMAN: "THE MANICOID TELEPORTATION CONUNDRUM"

ABC Family has provided The Continuum a description and six images from "The Manicoid Teleportation Conundrum," a new episode of The Middleman scheduled to air on Monday, July 7.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"The Middleman and Wendy are called to look into the strange disappearance of a rich socialite during a fateful shopping trip. As their trail leads them through the world of plastic surgery addiction, they realize that they are dealing with a group of exiled aliens who are being hunted by an unknown entity. But who would hunt down a peaceful species of aliens whose only affliction is the appearance of too much facial work?

"Meanwhile, Wendy is upset to find out that Ben has posted their break-up video online and tries to avoid Lacey, who is channeling her inner therapist."

Beginning June 30, The Middleman is moving to 10 p.m. on Mondays.

BATMAN GOTHAM KNIGHT

Warner Home Video has released three more images from Batman Gotham Knight, the animated movie that will be released on July 8.

The images are from three of the film's six segments -- "In Darkness Dwells," written by David Goyer; "Have I Got a Story for You," written by Josh Olson; and "Working Through Pain," written by Brian Azzarello.

Batman Gotham Knight will premiere at Wizard World Chicago on Saturday, June 28 at 7 p.m. (CT) in the 1,500-seat hall within the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. The screening will be followed by a panel featuring executive producer Bruce Timm and a quartet of the film's writers: Olson, Azzarello, Greg Rucka and Alan Burnett.

The panelists will be available for a 90-minute autograph session on Sunday, June 29 beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the Fountain Area. An encore presentation of the film will screen Sunday at 2 p.m.

IDW PUBLISHING'S SPIKE: AFTER THE FALL

Brian Lynch, scripter of IDW Publishing's July-debuting Spike: After the Fall said character creator Joss Whedon provided a solid direction for the series.

"Joss laid the groundwork with me, a very specific outline, and now I'm carrying it out," Lynch said. "He did the heavy-lifting in the beginning, and now I'm the spokesman, I'm the mouthpiece."

Here's how IDW describes the four-part series:

"In IDW's Angel: After the Fall, all of the characters who survived the melee that concluded Joss Whedon's TV series have had to find their way in a Los Angeles cast into hell. As befit his character, the vampire Spike seemed to have it all at the start -- he was set up in a certain Beverly Hills mansion, surrounded by a cadre of female warriors and Illyria, too. But it wasn't always so easy for him.

"Spike: After the Fall tells the tale of what happened in the intervening months since that alleyway cataclsym. Along for the ride in this series are Illyria, who has a tendency to revert back to Fred at inopportune times, as well as Angel's Dragon, and a new cast of characters as well. Most importantly, the series introduces a character who will come to be see as Spikešs arch-nemesis. Even more than Angel."

Series artist Franco Urru provides two issues in a 50/50 split for the first issue, and the Australian art team of The Sharp Brothers offer a grindhouse-inspired incentive cover.

"I cannot express how great this is coming out," Lynch said. "I didn't want to dilute Angel: After the Fall or the previous Urru/Lynch Spike tales, so we didn't plan this until we saw whether or not it would work. It worked. It works soooo well. This is gonna be goooood. All the hell! None of the Angels!"

DEVIL'S DUE PUBLISHING'S SERPO

Devil's Due Publishing has announced an August release for Serpo, an original graphic novel in collaboration with Invisible Hand Studios and executive producer Vin Di Bona.

Combining rumors, purported U.S. government files, and first-hand accounts, Serpo will unveil a shocking story of 12 Americans taken to live on an alien planet.

"If you're a conspiracy or black ops believer, Serpo will knock your socks off and even make you question your mother for the truth," Di Bona said.

The 120-page book is written by Jason Burns, with art by Joe Eisma and a cover by Roger Robinson.

"Working on Serpo was a really unique experience for me as a writer because, unlike other adaptations, this one being based on fact or fiction is still unresolved," Burns said. "Conversely, it's also a unique story for the reader because it challenges them to make up their own minds as to whether or not they believe the events actually took place."
