CAPTAIN AMERICA REBORN

Marvel Comics has announced that Steve Rogers will return in Captain America Reborn, a five-part series that launches in July.

The series will be written by Ed Brubaker, with art by Bryan Hitch.

Here's how Marvel sets up the book:

"A story that captured international attention, Captain America #25 polarized shocked audiences by starkly depicting the murder the cultural icon. On that fateful day when shots rang out on the courthouse steps, Capšs greatest enemy -- the Red Skull -- achieved his greatest ambition -- or so it seemed. Since that time, the Marvel Universe has been in chaos, as as the Red Skull has worked towards his true endgame. But now there is a ray of hope in the form of Steve Rogers!

"How can Steve Rogers return from the dead, and will his rebirth be enough to stop the global threat of his sworn enemy? Hitting shelves on July 1, the special five-part series Captain America Reborn finally reveals the true scope of the Red Skullšs nefarious plan, and begins Captain America's triumphant return."

Marvel has unveiled the cover art by John Cassaday and Alex Ross for the first issue, as well as the Joe Quesada variant that will be available on July 22.

WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN: "BATTLE LINES"

Nicktoons has provided The Continuum a description and two images from "Battle Lines," Friday's episode of Wolverine and the X-Men.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Rogue uncovers Magneto's plan for the Brotherhood, but Logan doesn't believe her when she tries to warn him. When the Brotherhood attacks, however, it quickly becomes clear that Rogue was telling the truth.

"Now, pitted in battle against the Brotherhood, the X-Men are kept busy while Magneto initiates a precision strike against MRD facilities across the country. The humans are under siege, and Magneto's coup de grace will put more than just Kelly's troops in danger unless the X-Men can find a way to stop it."

The episode was written by Christopher Yost and directed by Doug Murphy.
