Marvel First Looks -- and much more!

300, TMNT PREVIEWS

As part of its 2007 preview, Warner Bros. has released synopses for its two comics-based films due in March: 300 and TMNT.

Here's how the studio describes 300, which reaches theaters on March 9:

"Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy.

"The film brings Milleršs (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale."

Here's how the studio describes TMNT, which reaches theaters on March 23:

"After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Struggling to keep them together, their rat sensei, Master Splinter, becomes worried when strange things begin to brew in New York City. Tech-industrialist Max Winters is amassing an army of ancient monsters to apparently take over the world. And only one super-ninja fighting team can stop them -- those heroes in a half shell -- Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael!

"With the help of old allies April OšNeil and Casey Jones, the Turtles are in for the fight of their lives as they once again must face the mysterious Foot Clan, who have put their own ninja skills behind Winters' endeavors.

"Making this new incarnation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles truly cutting-edge, the film will be created entirely with state-of-the-art CG animation, giving them a completely new look for the 21st century."

ARCHIE COMICS' NEW LOOK - AN EARLY PREVIEW

Archie Comics has provided The Continuum with an early preview of Steven Butler's penciled pages from Betty & Veronica Double Digest #151, which introduces a new look to the Archie character.

The story, written by Melanie J. Morton, is called "Bad Boy Trouble."

Here's how Archie describes the story:

"When Nick St. Clair rides into Riverdale on his motorcycle, Veronica is smitten. She likes Nick's air of assurance and his knack for getting noticed. The only problem is Nick gets noticed for all the wrong things! Nick quickly alienates all of Ronnie's friends, especially Betty. Is this handsome rebel the boy of Veronica's dreams, or just plain trouble? Will Betty and Veronica's friendship come to an end over the new boy in town?"

Betty & Veronica Double Digest #151 will be in stores on May 9. Click on the thumbnails below for larger images.
