BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD: "DAY OF THE DARK KNIGHT"

Cartoon Network has released two clips from "Day of the Dark Knight," the Friday, Jan. 2 episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"The evil Morgan Le Fey has taken over Camelot and turned everyone to stone! To thwart her plans, Merlin transports Batman and Green Arrow back in time to retrieve Excalibur, defeat Etrigan, battle dragons and return King Arthur to the Throne! In the teaser, Guy Gardner teams up with Batman to stop a criminal riot at Green Lantern Corps."

The episode was written by J.M. DeMatteis and directed by Ben Jones.

THE SPIRIT 7TH AT BOX OFFICE

The Spirit placed seventh at the box office on Thursday, its opening day.

The film, opening in 2,509 theaters, brought in an estimated $3.8 million.

The Spirit trailed four other opening films -- Marley and Me ($14.6 million), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button ($11.7 million), Bedtime Stories ($10.3 million) and Valkryie ($8.3 million) -- and two films in their second weeks -- Yes Man ($5.9 million) and Seven Pounds ($4.7 million).

The Spirit was in fewer theaters than any of the films it trailed.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: "SOMETIMES A GREAT NOTION"

Sci Fi has released 15 images from "Somtimes a Great Notion," the Friday, Jan. 16 episode of Battlestar Galactica.

The episode kicks off a 10-week run that will culminate with the series finale on March 20.

Sci Fi has yet to release a description for "Sometimes a Great Notion."

Shown in the images are Lucy Lawless as D'anna Bier, Michael Trucco as Sam Anders, Tahmoh Penikett as Karl "Helo" Agatho, Katee Sackhoff as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, Tricia Helfer as Number Six, Edward James Olmos as Admiral William Adama, Mary McDonnell as Laura Roslin, Jamie Bamber as Lee "Apollo" Adama, Aaron Douglas as Tyro, Michael Hogan as Col. BRIEFLY

* Singer Eartha Kitt, one of the actresses to portray Catwoman in the 1960s Batman television series, has died. She was 81.

Kitt won two Emmy Awards and was nominated for two Tony Awards and two Grammy Awards. Her Catwoman performance was best remembered for her rolling-Rs purr.

* Cartoon Network will rebroadcast Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 8 p.m.
