MARVEL'S THE SUPER HERO SQUAD SHOW

The Continuum has obtained two new images from Marvel's The Super Hero Squad, which premieres this month on Cartoon Network.

The images show the design for Chthon and Wolverine in Chthon's dimension.

Chthon is voiced by Mark Hamill.

In other SHS news:

* Cartoon Network has yet to release its schedule for September, but sources tell The Continuum there might be as many as two preview episodes before the series' announced launch on Saturday, Sept. 19.

* Featured heroes in the series' first episode are Iron Man, Hulk, Silver Surfer, Wolverine Thor and Falcon, with appearances by Storm, Captain Americ and Ms. Marvel and cameos by Colossus, Kitty Pryde and the Fantastic Four.

* Villains in the first episode are Mole Man and his monsters (Trichephalus, Manoo, Megataur), the Moloids, Fin Fang Foom, Doctor Doom and Abomination.

* Matt Wayne wrote the first episode.

THE GREEN HORNET STARTS PRODUCTION

Columbia Pictures has announced that The Green Hornet live-action film, starring Seth Rogen, has started production for release on Dec. 17, 2010.

In addition to Rogen, The Green Hornet also stars Taiwanese actor-pop star Jay Chou as Kato, Cameron Diaz, Edward James Olmos, David Harbour and Tom Wilkinson. Nicolas Cage is in negotiations to appear in the film.

Michel Gondry is directing, and Neal H. Moritz is producing. Executive producers are Rogen, Michael Grillo, Evan Goldberg, Ori Marmur and George W. Trendle, Jr.

The screenplay is by Rogen and Goldberg and is based upon The Green Hornet radio series created by George W. Trendle.

The film will shoot entirely in Los Angeles.

Other key personel include John Schwartzman ais the director of photography, Owen Paterson as production designer, Kym Barrett as costume designer and Michael Tronick as editor.
