THE SPIRIT ROUNDUP

DeSanto and Uslan at 2007 New York Comic Con.

Michael Uslan and F.J. DeSanto, who are helping guide Will Eisner's The Spirit to the big screen, are now doing the same for the character in comic books.

Uslan and DeSanto, who are producer and co-producer of The Spirit film that reaches theaters on Dec. 25, are teaming to writing DC Comics' The Spirit comic.

Their first issue will be The Spirit #26 in February.

* Lionsgate has released a new, Christmas-themed video spot from the movie.

* Lionsgate also has released new images from the film.

The images show Jamie King as Lorelei, Stana Katic as Morganstern, Samuel L. Jackson as The Octopus, Scarlett Johansson as Silken Floss, Sarah Paulson as Ellen, Paz Vega as Plaster of Paris and Louis Lombardi as Phobos.

* Warner Bros. has tapped Al Gough and Miles Millar, former show-runners of The CW's Smallville, to write its Robotech feature film.
