BLADE: THE SERIES UPDATE

Spike TV has released 14 images from "Delivery," the next new episode of Blade: The Series set to premiere on Wednesday.

Here's how Spike TV describes the episode:

"Krista runs into Uncle Pat at a gala with Marcus and learns her mother has leukemia. Blade takes a captive Vanessa to Paris, fending off vampires eager to get her back. Hot on Boone's trail, Special Agent Collins visits a wounded Patricia. Charlotte demands Marcus meet with Damek from the Armayan House, who wants in on Aurora. With Chase injured, Marcus sends Krista and Jakob to get Vanessa back from Blade. Dr. Lambert's examination of Vanessa shows she isn't actually carrying a baby but ominous unknown fluid."

"Delivery" was wrtten by Barbara Nance and directed by Nancy Chapple.

ANITA BLAKE CONVENTION SPECIAL

Dabel Brothers Production has announced a pencils-only version of the first issue of the comic-book adaptation of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter in Guily Pleasures will be available at Wizard World Chicago on Aug. 4-6.

The regular version of the book will ship in mid-August.

The convention special will feature the pencils of artist Brett Booth.

"We really wanted to offer something unique to our fans who have waited so long and so patiently for this title," said Ernst Dabel, president of DB Pro. "And this book is absolutely gorgeous.

"We often forget when we publish our comics that while we have had the opportunity to see the artwork at every stage pencils, inks, colors, and letters our readers only get to see the completed product. But there's something to be said for seeing the original pencils, especially when they're drawn by someone as talented and as much eye for detail as Brett Booth."

HELLBOY ANIMATED UPDATE

Dark Horse Comics has announced the a line of graphic novels, products, and custom publishing projects based on the upcoming animated Hellboy movies.

Dark Horse is creating a 32-page custom comic that will be packed in an estimated 500,000 Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms DVDs when they are released on Feb. 6. The custom comic features story by Jim Bascoe and art by Rick Lacy.

"Jim got to work these stories out with Mike (Mignola, Hellboy's creator), so Mike's stamp is visible here too," editor Scott Allie said. "And with Tad (Stones), Mignola's co-producer on the animated shows, writing backups, we're fleshing out the world of the two slated animated films, bringing some great stuff from Mike's comics into that parallel world,"

Beginning in late 2006, Dark Horse will release a series of products, including polyresin statues, mini-busts, PVC figures, magnets, rubber stamps, stationery, journals, and flip flop sandals. The line will kick off with the release of two Hellboy Animated statues -- Hellboy and Abe Sapien -- sculpted by Tony Cipriano.
