COMING WEDNESDAY

First Looks, solicitations -- and much more!!!

KIRSTEN DUNST TALKS SPIDER-MAN 3

Spider-Man 3 is "a much darker Spider-Man," Kirsten Dunst said during an appearance on NBC's Today on Tuesday morning.

Promoting Marie Atoinette, Dunst appeared on Today and Live! with Regis and Kelly and wound up talking about Spider-Man 3, where she returns as Mary Jane.

"It's a very dramatic movie, this one," Dunst said. "There's a lot going on. This is a much darker Spider-Man."

On Live!, Dunst said, "We've all grown up together for a few years now. The relationships just get more complicated the older we get. It's very dramatic, this one."

Asked about the challenges of working on a sequel, Dunst said, "It's actually really comforting and it's such a collaborative group of people now that there's an openess that you don't get when you first work on a film."

SOULFIRE: CHAOS REIGN VARIANTS

Aspen Comics has announced it will feature guest-artists for variant covers for its Soulfire: Chaos Reign mini-series.

Francis Manapul has provided the variant for the second issue, which is shown to the right.

"From the early planning stages of this series, we wanted the covers for Soulfire: Chaos Reign to be distinctive to reflect the unique nature of the book," said Vince Hernandez, Aspen editorial director.

"Series artist Marcus To and colorist Peter Steigerwald blew away all of our expectations with their regular covers, capturing the theme of the series perfectly. But we also wanted to give fans a treat by bringing on special guest cover artists for each issue. Talent Caldwell returned to Aspen for issue one, and Francis Manapul follows him up with his own stunning take on issue two. Stay tuned for issue three."

Soulfire: Chaos Reign details the dark origins of magic in the Soulfire universe, offering a brutal tale centering on a young girl Miya, her struggle to find her mother and her discovery of an unimaginable evil in the process.
